sangha
an ever widening way the Sangha grows
StowSangha is part of Triratna . We come together to support each through friendship and shared spiritual practice, inspired by the Buddha’s example to follow a path of meditation, ethics and wisdom. Some of us are ordained members of the Triratna Buddhist Order, others are friends or mitras who are seeking to join the Order. We welcome people of all faiths and none, including those from other Buddhist traditions, who want to meditate with us or to learn more about the Buddha’s teachings.
Most of us are developing towards becoming individuals – but still non-individuals because parts of us are less developed, so I decided to leave out the use of the word individual completely…

And, we won't try to convince you, convert you or persuade you to become a buddhist.

We will briefly introduce you to two core Buddhist meditation and mindfulness practices [as taught within the Triratna context]. The Mindfulness of Breathing and the Cultivation of Loving-kindness (metta bhavana) meditations are alternately taught, providing a balanced basis for the experiencing insight, clarity, and compassion. Both practices support us to live life fully with clear awareness, some peace of mind and emotional positivity. This class offers the opportunity to meditate with others as a community.
If you are new to meditation and want more time for specific individual enquiry we reccomend attending one of our six week Meditation and Midfulness courses.
Transport: Walthamstow Central tube and overground are a short walk away
